  • Or go old-school: plug a LAN cable into your computer.

What does “uncapped & unshaped” mean?

Uncapped means there’s no data-limit for your usage.

Unshaped means your speed isn't throttled during busy periods — you get what you pay for, all the time. Quirknet

What happens after I order?

Once you sign up:

  • We check your address for network availability.

  • If available, we schedule installation (or activation) via the fibre network.

  • You’ll receive login/setup details or fibre ONT details as needed.

(Exact process may vary depending on the network in your area.)
  • If you already have a fibre box and ONT (optical network Terminal) we do an activation. If not its a new install which can take time depending on certain factors.

How long does it take from the time i order?

We get it — waiting for fast internet feels like watching paint dry. Here’s what you can expect with QuirkNet:

  • If fibre is already installed at your address:

You’ll usually be connected within 24–72 hours after your payment and activation.

  • If a new fibre installation is required:

Installation can take up to 30 days, depending on the network provider, area, and scheduling availability. Some networks move faster, but others may take a bit longer if there’s high demand or infrastructure work needed.

  • Router setup & configuration:

Once your line is active, you’re just 10 minutes away from being fully online (we’ve got easy guides or remote help if you need it).

🌀 Pro Tip:

To avoid delays, make sure you’re available when the network team schedules your installation — they can’t work their magic if no one’s home!

What happens if I don’t pay on time?

If payment is not received by the due date, or payment fails, your line may be suspended until the overdue amount is cleared.

If my speed is slow what should I check?

  • Make sure your router is correctly connected to the ONT/fibre box.
  • Check whether your home wiring or router might be limiting the speed.

  • Disconnect/reboot modem & router.

  • Contact QuirkNet support with your details if issues persist — we’ll help you troubleshoot.

Do I need to sign a long-term contract?

Nope — QuirkNet keeps it simple: fast fibre, fair pricing, no long-term traps.

What should I do if my fibre isn’t working?

Don’t panic — let’s get your connection back to quirky speed! Here’s what to check before we log a fault with the network provider (FNO):

  1. Check your ONT (Fibre Box):

    Make sure it’s powered on.

Look for the LAN light — it should be solid or flashing green.

If there’s no LAN light or a red LOS (Loss of Signal) light, that means there’s a network issue on the fibre line itself.

→ We’ll need to log this with the FNO (the Fibre Network Operator).

  2. Check your Router:

Is the Internet light red or off?

→ Try restarting both the ONT and the router — turn them off for 30 seconds, then back on.

Wait 2–3 minutes for all the lights to stabilise.

  3. Send us some info:

A clear photo of the ONT lights and the router lights.

The ONT serial number (usually printed on a sticker on the device).

If you know your network name (e.g. Openserve, Vumatel, MetroFibre), include that too — it helps us log your fault faster.

Once we have those details, our support team will check your connection and, if needed, escalate it directly to the Fibre Network Operator to get you back online ASAP.

💡 Pro Tip:

Avoid unplugging the fibre cable itself — it’s delicate and best left to the technicians.

How long does it take to fix a fibre line fault?

We know being offline feels like the end of the world (or at least the end of Netflix), so here’s what you can expect when there’s a fibre fault on your line:

  • Minor network faults — like configuration errors or local disruptions — are usually resolved within 24–72 business hours once logged with the Fibre Network Operator (FNO).

  • Physical fibre line faults — for example, when the fibre cable is broken, damaged, or needs to be traced — can take up to 7–14 days to repair.

This depends on the nature of the damage and what’s required to fix it.
    Examples include:

A fibre break that needs to be located and repaired (sometimes underground).

A damaged or destroyed junction box that must be replaced.

Area-wide outages where technicians need to rebuild a section of the network.

💡 Good to know:

  • The repair time depends on your FNO’s availability (e.g. Openserve, Vumatel, MetroFibre, etc.) and their technician schedules in your area.

  • QuirkNet logs the issue immediately once we’ve confirmed the fault and keeps you updated every step of the way.

  • And remember: just because your neighbour’s fibre is working doesn’t mean your line isn’t affected. Fibre routes and connections often differ from house to house — so one customer’s line can be down while the rest of the street is fine.

🌀 Pro Tip:

If your ONT shows no LAN light or a red LOS light, send us a clear photo and the ONT serial number — it helps us confirm the issue faster and get it escalated to the FNO.
